Christmas Eve

‘A cup of milk
And a wheaten cake,
And a spark of fire
For the Travellers’ sake.
A door on the latch,
A light on the pane,
Lest the Travellers pass
In the wind and rain.
Food for the fire
And candlelight
The Travellers’ Blessing
On us this night.’
Una taza de leche
Y un pastel de trigo,
Y un poco de fuego
Por el bien de los Viajeros.
Una puerta sin pestillo,
Una luz en el cristal,
No sea que pasen los viajeros
En el viento y la lluvia.
Comida para el fuego
Y la luz de las velas
La bendición del viajero
Sobre nosotros esta noche.
