¿Cuando he mirado por última vez

los redondos ojos verdes y los largos cuerpos sinuosos

de los negros leopardos a de la luna?

Todas las brujas ermitañas,aquellas señoras nobilísimas,

Con todas sus escobas y sus lágrimas,

sus enojadas lágrimas, se han ido.

Se han desvanecido los santos centauros de los montes;

sólo me queda sino el sol amargado .

Desterrada la heroica madre luna y desaparecida;

Y ahora llegado a los cincuenta años,

he de sufrir el sol huraño.

WHEN have I last looked on

The round green eyes and the long wavering bodies

Of the dark leopards of the moon?

All the wild witches, those most notable ladies,

For all their broom-sticks and their tears,

Their angry tears, are gone.

The holy centaurs of the hills are vanished;

I have nothing but the embittered sun;

Banished heroic mother moon and vanished,

And now that I have come to fifty years

I must endure the timid sun.
